Each year, Nantucket's preschools and private elementary schools celebrate their own end-of-year activities. Below are some photos and brief descriptions of those events from 2009. Students in the Upper Primary Class (grades 3-4) at the Nantucket Lighthouse School studied slavery and Harriet Tubman this year and on June 5 put on the play "Freedom in the Air," about two young girls' escape from slavery via the Underground Railroad. |
