Guest houses, inns and hotels welcome visitors to Nantucket with an array of choices when it comes to lodging. Most guest houses are in converted historic homes and are located in the center of downtown Nantucket. Minimum stays of two to three nights generally apply, especially in season and over holiday or special event weekends. Prepayment is common as well. Check with each property when making reservations.

By law, commercial kitchens are not allowed in most of these guest houses, meaning that overnight guests will generally be offered a cold buffet for breakfast: muffins, breakfast breads, fruit, juice, cereals and yogurt are common breakfast fare. Inns and hotels are more likely to have full-service restaurants on the premises.
